The Chase Sapphire Reserve® Card took the points world by storm when it launched in 2016 with benefits and perks that seemed too good to be true.
It turns out they were. In 2017, the WSJ reported that Chase was losing a fortune on the newly launched Sapphire Reserve, despite it being a smash hit.
The card was overhauled with a very different set of perks and benefits last year, and with a $795 annual fee.
Chase has continued to tinker with the value proposition, adding more flexible Edit hotel credits and a $250 bonus hotel credit for 2026.
They also recently added the first kosher restaurant to their $300/year Sapphire Exclusive Tables credit.
And for the card’s 10th anniversary, Chase is adding more Chase Offers that Sapphire Reserve and JPMorgan Reserve cardholders can activate online or in the Chase app. These offers must be booked directly from the merchant’s website.
