Update: SAS flew between Copenhagen and Tel Aviv from 10/26/25-2/28/26, before suspending service due to the Iran war. It had planned on resuming service on 10/25/26, but I noted earlier this week that the airline had just removed all of its flights from the schedule.
We reached out to SAS for comment, and the airline responded today that,
“Following our latest assessment of operational and commercial factors, we have concluded that the conditions are not right to launch the planned Copenhagen to Tel Aviv service at this time. Tel Aviv remains an important destination for SAS and our customers, and we will continue to monitor developments and evaluate the opportunity to launch the route in the future.”
For now, though, a Tel Aviv service resumption is not in the cards.

Scandinavian carrier SAS left Tel Aviv in March 2016, citing political instability and a lack of profitability on the route.
Since then, the airline has switched from the Star Alliance to SkyTeam and brought back business class on short-haul flights. They have also signed a codeshare agreement with El Al, which makes sense as El Al looks to join the SkyTeam Alliance.
And now, SAS announced it will launch year-round service to Tel Aviv, effective 10/26/25.
That’s great news for newly minted SAS mileage millionaires!
The flight will depart Copenhagen on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 11:35am and arrive into Tel Aviv at 5pm.
It will depart Tel Aviv on Sundays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays at 6pm and arrive into Copenhagen at 9:50pm.
Those flight times will make for a good connection from the US to Tel Aviv, but will require an overnight in Copenhagen on the return.
Either way, it’s always good to have more options for flights to the Holy Land!
